Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

< cross posted to Dear-LEGO > Dear Brad, (...) is (...) Well, if it is fake or not, it sure has attracted many people, and I hope TLC sees this. This is what we would really like to see in train sets. Sets like these have the possibilities and parts (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

(...) is (...) In my opinion, yes. In 1981, I eleven years old on a Europe trip with my family. We were in Germany, soon to travel to Denmark to visit LEGOLAND, Billund. In Germany, my family went to a toy shop where I saw the 7820 red Mail Waggon. (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Ny svensk LEGO-sida!

(26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.se)

Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

(...) It's also a promotion for the Verkhers- und Technikmuseum in Berlin (if it is real, that is). There is a reference to a contest on the first scan. It should be easy to ask either of them to verify if it is real. Of course, if this is still a (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

(...) Could this in itself be a problem that Lego wouldnt not want to encourage? i.e the sets are too German. By that I mean too localised (nothing specific against the Germans I would like to point out). If lego want to sell sets on the world stage (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) and I set the FUT there too. (...) Indeed. These sets get a number of things right: More subdued colors (lots of dark grey, brown, tan and green), more realism, less juniorization, additional options for power, more use of train windows, and (...)   Re: How many bricks in a kilo (or pound)?

Well, to answer my own question, I looked at ebay auctions where folks were selling lego "by the pound" and adding the pieces. One pound is somewhere between 200 to 300 pieces (with an obvious variation between one by one rounds and small (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

(...) I'm curious about clearance issues with the automated points. Would the undercarriage of "normal" train cars strike against the dark gray block if going through the curvey-curve section of the points? later, James Mathis (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

In lugnet.trains, Larry Pieniazek writes: <snip> (...) AND, we'll spend a *LOT* of money on new LEGO Train sets... If these sets are real, I'm thinking I need multiple copies of each of them - and I'm sure the rest of the GMLTC thinks the same way! (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: LEGO CREATOR V2

(...) That sounds great. I just got the first Lego creator and I'm somewhat disappointed with the inability to turn bricks at certain axis and controlling the minifig through the environment. BTW, has anyone figured out how to pilot a flying vehicle (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.games.lego.creator, lugnet.general)

  Re: Black Falcons

(...) I'm not currently interested in them, but I would guess that you could find, without looking too hard, people who will pay $5.00 each for complete BF figs with shield/helmet/weapon, if they are in good condition. Without the helmet/weapon, I (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

(...) I see your point but I would point out the following items to ponder: - Germany has the highest per capita brick consumption with 95+% or some such households with kids having TLC products. - Germany is a large market (almost 1/2 the US size), (...)
