  Suggestions - Possible ESSEX Fest?

All, Looking at Huw's thumbnails It sure looked good up there, and I wished I could have been there! Anyway, as some of you already know, (especially Huw), my ability to get day passes rubber stamped by the wife is limited! So therefore my attention (...)   Help with waist design

I'm working on a new mecha design which is coming along fairly well. Anyways, I have become frustrated with the 4x4 turntable part that I am using as the waist. Does anyone know how to tighten this part or have a different idea for a waist? Travis (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Buildings, etc. for BAYLTC NMRA Layout

Hi all, We loved the multi-story downtown buildings from Sunday, and may try to build one. I think they would look very cool on the NRMA layout.   Re: Help with waist design

(...) I have had good luck with a very 'low tech' solution to the 4x4 turntable: I just looped a rubber band (from an old Technic set!) around the 'base' piece, so that the 'top' piece sat over it in two spots. The rubber gave some friction between (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) I used pretty much the same approach to tighten the 2x2 turntables -- I put a piece of paper in between the top and the bottom halves. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 14-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
