Hi all,
The latest addition to Starforce, the Ghato Heavy Cargo Ship, can be found here:
http://www.commandercurt.net/UnitedLFWEB/Ghato_heavy_cargo_ship.
Information:
The Ghato Heavy Cargo Ship is Starforce's main cargo-transportation
workhorse. It was designed to carry large quantities of medium-sized cargo
containers. It is not armed, but it usually travels with a fighter escort.
Since the Ghato is very heavy, it requires a special landing field equipped
with long-range tractor beams to assist with landing. The Ghatos travels
with a crew of two, and is highly automated. In addition to the organic
crew, there are a few androids.
BTW, this ship is the longest I've ever built, at 80 studs long.
LMKWYT!

I forgot to add something.
This ship uses the ingeniously designed TravHatch (TM). I apologize to
Travis Matheson for stealing his design. :-)

Wow, I mean, wow. that is quite a complex model. I have to say, I quite
like it.

I noticed this as I was looking through the pics.
the model I originally designed the hatch for had an unfortunate accident
with a soccer ball. it is mostly intact, but I think it's time for a
redesign/rebuild.
(I take forever with models, I really do. if it's not built with in a
night, 4 hours or so, it will not be for weeks/months)
This give you the title of "First to Use in actual MOC"
nice job commander ;-)

Very nice. I like the look of the engines--they have kind of a "modern
sci-fi" look to them (the usual rockets look like something you'd see on a
primitive 21st-century spaceship, but these have more of a futuristic flavor
to them). I also like how you remembered that important thing organics have
to do every so often. XD I'm still trying to figure out what's going on
with the black-and-gray panel near the back that looks kinda like the big
cargo door. Is it another entry or a decoration?

Ah, that's too bad... I hope to see the rebuild soon!

It took me forever to figure out how to arrange the trans-blue canopies. I'm
glad you liked them!

Very nice. I especially like the door that uses "robot" arms for hinges.
I think I am gonna "steal" that idea :-)

it's in one of those "'ll get to it as soon as I ...." stages at the
moment. I'm also working on some non-space moc's that I would like to get
finished soon. argh, it never rains, it pours
I'm sure inspiration will hit, eventually.

Very cool. You've conveyed the feel of a big-boned cargo ship well. I like
how you made it boxy but not too boxy.
The interioir is neat- its rare to see a large cargo area like that. I
particullarly like the thing with the multi-colored cylinders on top, and
the rows of Arctic windows really give good a mass-produced cargo feel.
The way you did the engines, using the canopies, is also nice.

Here's another admirer of the engine design. Very sleek.
I like what you've done here too:
http://www.commandercurt.net/UnitedLFWEB/GhatoCargoShip/sensors3.JPG
This is just my personal preferance, but I wouldn't mind seeing a few more
greeblies on the roof just to break up the cast expanse of studs a bit.
Nice ship though. That hold is BIG!
Cheers,
Allister

It sounds like "ghetto blaster", which refers to a boom box.

You use this black, dark gray, gray, blue color scheme quite a bit. I would
even say too much. As a challenge I would try not to use any black in your
next MOC.
As for the shape of this it honestly doesn't do anything for me. It
*really* needs something unique. One big fin on the bottom, or a long boom
off to the left. When building try to push yourself. After you've settled
on the look of something see what else you can do to make it more original.
I *do* like what you're going for in the front, I just think that it's
basically a box behind that. Not that a box is always bad, but it seems
very hard to pull off a box shape and make it look attractive.
