So what software does this?  If it is so common to have in an

I know of no email software with a "Reply to Recipient" command --
*THAT* is the problem.
Yes, I'm opinionated about this.  You should be too.  Or is it
unimportant to be able to reply to someone without accidentally
sending your reply to everyone?

I didn't mean to start such a firestorm about this.

I suspect, reality being lazy, that it's easier to fix
a 'problem' like this in one place (the centralized
mailing-list software) and not in a great multitude of
places (everyone's varied mail clients).

I would happily volunteer to try to make list software
modifications, as I have had to do this before.

(Not to add fuel to the fire, but another peeve is mailing
lists that don't strip enough identifying info from outgoing
messages, and replace it with their own. As a result, any
errors or annoying "out-of-office" replies get sent to the
message author (who can't do anything about it), not to a
mailing-list admin address (who hopefully can do something
about it).

As I said before, I'm not just whining, I'm happy to try to
help, if the consensus is that it should work this way. If folks
prefer the way it works now, I'll just keep quiet.

I think that people think it is a pain in the a$$, as there has been a post on this before, but it has been this way for a long time, and people are used to having to delete senders. I am not saying that I like to do this (I don't), but that people (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)
