And you still have over one month to enter another vignette! Good Luck!

Well, Ill jump in and agree with Chris and Janey.
Big Daddy, youre reply was not very considerate. You could have moderated
the tone of your reply just a little. Did you canvas the curators of the
.vignette group before posting? Or did you assume that everyone would agree with
your attitude?
Certainly, youve alienated me enough that I will not be entering this contest -
and probably any other contest with which you are involved.
BTW, your comment about entering another vignette seems to be somewhat
inaccurate - I dont see anywhere on the rules page for the 2nd annual contest
that would prohibit the entry from being re-submitted with the correct head.
Maybe you could make this clear, if there is a reason the vignette isnt
eligible?

It is always hard to get ones message and tone across in a written medium. I
did not find Nelsons message inconsiderate, or perceived him as having an
attitude - it was simply a direct and honest answer. As I stated earlier, in the
end I am happy that he knows where to draw the line, making the contest much
more enjoyable for everyone.
I have received an e-mail from him and Nathan enabling me to re-enter this later
on with the proper head, should I want to. No need to dig any deeper than that
:-)

Hello, Paul. Thank you for your opinion. For the record, Nathan and I were in
complete agreement prior to my reply to Linus.

We are very sorry to hear that. Your response seems to be a very personal attack
on me, but that is your perogative. If you wish to enter
our Second Joe Vig Contest,
you are still very welcome to do so.

You are absolutely correct on this. We have since emailed Linus Bohman
regarding, and if he wishes to resubmit his entry, with the proper Joe Vig
minifig build, as clearly defined in the
Contest Rules, then we will
accept his entry.
KUDOS to LUGNET member John Neal,

Hey all,
Im confused as to the debate here. This seems a perfect example of
community. Two community members sponsored a contest to encourage building and
donated the prizes (including the first prize as a $50 set). Another community
member was inspired by this to build a great MOC. When it was pointed out that
this didnt comply to the rules, that member was gracious in agreeing to the
judges decision. Still another member donated an element to make the entry
compliant -- the true community solution. This is all about a gracious and
friendly community.
Im only kicking myself that I didnt think of sending a head myself.

Yes. There is a warm and embracing community here, or what's left of one, and it
acted the way we all have seen it act in the past, warmly, as you describe
above. The part you missed though, is that there is also a much less warm and
embracing community here too.
If these terms confuse you, take a good look at
http://www.lugnet.com/people/members/?m=1285 and decide if what is written there
is sincere, or mocking. (and think about what it says about the LEGO ambassador
program that they'd not notice that in their selection process)
Then look at http://news.lugnet.com/build/vignette/?n=778 and decide if that
entry is made sincerely or to try to stir up controversy.
Then if you still have any doubt, look at http://www.lugnet.com/~1285/CTOPs and
try to count who was mocked how many times... Just for giggles, see
http://news.lugnet.com/loc/au/?n=13881 and think about the name choice of the
ship.
There's plenty more where that came from, you just have to keep your eyes open.
Hope that helps.

It's a joke, Larry. Or am I the only one that thinks this whole 'discussion' is
hilariously absurd?

The Seatop is a brig, as I specified in my post, not a ship. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brig for further details.

LMAO!!! Thanks for bringing those to my attention, Larry! They truly made my day
- I haven't laughed so much for ages! That Richie guy is a riot!! I managed to
find the Joe Vig entry myself though, and liked it so much I spotlighted it, so
the rest of the warm (and not-so-warm) embracing community could share in it's
delights!
