Well we have an official BrickFest PDX hotel, the Red Lion. Details and photos are on the BrickFest PDX web site (http://pdx.brickfest.com/hotels.php). It is also directly on the MAX (PDX light rail) train line; which comes directly from the airport (less then $2.00). Newly remodeled, this is one of the nicest hotels in the area, and includes a big lobby with online PC free to guests (20 minute limit courtesy).

Special BrickFest Rate: $69/night (regular $110/night). I have heard that others have found other hotel rates for slightly cheaper (~$5/night) but they are either farther away or much lower quality (according to Steve Barile who has personally been to all of them!). We aren’t getting any kick backs from the hotel, I just think it would be a lot of fun to all be in the same place… midnight lobby parties etc…

The Red Lion has just extended their $69 rate until 15 days prior to the event. So, make your reservations before the 29th.

As of right now 21 days till BrickFest PDX !!!!

I can’t wait. This is going to be a blast.

Don't know if anyone in here is in this area, but the Orem, Utah Wal-Mart
has one Republic Gunship and one UCS Yoda left as of last night.  I picked
up the gunship a week ago there, and thought it was the only one--this other
one must have been stashed elsewhere.

Happy hunting!

While the set itself is not that exciting, it is the first of the 2002 Star
Wars sets available in the area... it's also a cheap source of Darth Vader
minifigs.

Anyway, the other 2002 sets should be hitting soon... I'd say within the
next week.

They're already hitting the shelves at TRU here in NYC.  I dropped by
the Union Square/e. 17th st location just a couple of hours ago and saw the
cloudcar, jed1 deul i and ii, jedi defense 1, and ewok attack.  I also saw
the new technic R2 and I'm pretty sure that I noticed technic vader as well.
While the system sets I saw were relatively unimpressive, they were still
pretty cool and I got stoked to see them there.

P.s.  I couldn't buy any tonight - so try to save some for me ;)

Surprise set 1271 for $3.69, Ninja Blaster 1099 for $2.79, and the White Ninja
1269 for $3.69.  I had not seen these sets for sale in Utah before.  I thought

I stopped by the Layton TRU tonight (7/20) and noticed that ZNAP sets are on
sale for 50% off. There was an abundance of inventory on an end cap.

The best deal appeared to be for a ZNAP set with Technic motor and battery
box: $10.

The northern Utah Shopko stores are now at their lowest clearance stage.  Some
of the deals to be had are: Mos Espa Pod race at $31.  Mission Control: $28,
Amazon Ancient Ruins, $28.  There are numerous Rock Raiders, Adventures and a
few Ninja items at super low prices as well.  The small sets are going fast
but there still seems to be plenty of big sets available.  They will all
likely be gone after this Saturday.  Good luck!

AWESOME!  thanks for the tip, ashley.

i really don't have the money but couldn't pass up the 5986 amazon ancient
ruins for $45.00 and 4970 chrome crusher for $16.00.  in my opinion, these
prices more closely reflect what the sets are worth.

i don't get the opportunities to shop for the discounts so i REALLY appreciate
it when the local fans post sale info like this.

Hello WAFOLITES. The subject line says it all.  Shopko now has some great
clearance items througout Utah.  Most Rock Raiders, early Star Wars, Ninja and
the large Adventurers sets are at half-off or better.

Target also has a few items on clearance.  A few more days and they will drop
to around 50% off, too.

that I would be happy to trade for miniland scale people and/or parts.

Yes. My negative entry was preceded by another recent negative entry of
identical situation. (His eBay ID# is jaws73)

we're supposed to be having a group get-together in april sometime so we'll

If you see him, please inquire about our unfinished deal and encourage him to
contact me if he has not already done so.

in the meantime, i'd take mark herzberg's comments in mind about jason having
been on vacation for a bit, this might explain the two week period without • your
check being cashed too.

My confusion stems from his failure to communicate with me.  If he cashed the
check after returning from a vacation, why hasn't he responded to my cue of
correspondence attempts now that he has returned?

Thanks for your response!  I'm starting to feel more confident that this might
end on a positive note.

I'm looking for some opinions and advice.

I recently secured the high bid on an eBay item listed by Jason Moulding.
After corresponding with me immediately following the close of the auction (to
exchange mailing addresses, etc.), he has not responded to any of my attempts
to communicate with him.  I sent him a personal check which remained uncashed
for over two weeks.  My displeasure peaked yesterday when I attempted to stop
payment on the check and discovered that it had cleared earlier in the day!
This occurred in the wake of my discovery that another eBay buyer seemed to be
having the same experience with Jason.  In response, I registered negative
feedback associated with Jason Moulding's feedback profile on eBay.

Today, I feel regret for feeling ire toward Jason.  It occurred to me that in
my attempts to contact him, I never checked with LUGNET resources to see if he
was known.  I reach out to this group because it appears that several folks in
your area have met socially with Jason within the last year or so.

I want to make the best of this situation.  Jason had a great eBay user rating
until very recently, and some of you have spent LEGOtime with him.  I'm hoping
he's a 'stand-up guy'.

Does anyone maintain contact with Jason?
Is he currently going through a personal crisis of some sort?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Jason is (was?) on vacation. I won a 6349 Holiday Villa from him. The deal
went through without a flaw and, since I needed the set in a rush (and he was
leaving soon), so I sent the check next day delivery and he was even kind
enough to send the set early without waiting for the check to clear. My deal
went through great. He is a great guy, and I am very sure your probelm will be
resolved.

Hi all,

My wife (a tolerant Lego spouse) and I did some shopping at various stores
this week and this is what we found:

Kmart in West Valley/Taylorsville (4100 S & Redwood Rd)

6479 emergency response center  for 29.99 (gone, we bought it!)
5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins for 39.99
6456 Mission Control for 39.99
6332 Command Post Central (police) for 29.99
5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise for 24.99
6451 River Response for 14.99
6565 Construction Crew for 7.49

Fred Meyer in Sandy (9400S approx 800E)

Beach Buster (technic police vehicle)  $12.79 + additional 25% off

KB Toys in Southtowne Mall (Sandy, 10600S & State, I-15 exit 297)

Not much, in fact it almost looks like they're phasing Lego out.  No Star
Wars sets, no 2000 sets.  They did have a Freestyle set (100 pcs or so, I
forgot the number) for $29.99.  That's right $29.99!  I figured the price I
saw was a mistake but most of them were marked the same.  Of course, I
wasn't curious enough to have the clerk scan one to find out the real price.

Enjoy,

Mike
