This is a call out to all AFOL, LEGO collectors, builders, hobbyists,
enthusiasts within walking, driving or flying distance of Toronto, Canada.

The Brickfête Team would love to see you this summer for our annual LEGO Fan
Convention. Join us for some good times completely focused on our beloved
obsession with the brick. You will see some amazing displays, have chances to
get involved with fun games and event, as well as hear from an official LEGO
Designer and LEGO Master Builder.

This July 11, 12, 13 and 14, 2013!
Hilton Hotel, Airport Rd in Toronto, Canada

To register for the four days visit our AFOL portion of our site…
www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event and please note, space is limited so act now,
operators are standing by.

We have secured some great room rates (however those end soon, so book now
before you end up paying full Toronto prices.)

If you are from out of town (or country) we are located right across from the
Toronto Airport, which means you can just fly here, board the shuttle to the
hotel and not worry about renting cars, maps or public transit.

Join our website’s free forum if you have any questions or want to discuss
things such as sharing a room, collaborative builds, or just a chance to connect
with others before the event.

Our list of events are being posted and there is something for everyone to get
involved with.

Have you built something cool that others would love to see???
Do you want to hang out with other amazing builders?
Listen to LEGO guest speakers or get involved with build challenges or contests!
Don't forget those prize raffles and all the other fun activities!
Want to have chances to win LEGO prizes or bid in the LEGO auction??
Display with us and enjoy the company of other AFOLS.
We can’t wait to see you on the attendees list and to see what you have built.

If you are new to conventions and are hesitating… check this forum post out and
feel free to ask questions www.brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/120

All the rest of the details and more can be read on www.brickfete.com

See you in July,

People wonder why I still post here, since there are very few replies...

At the time of me posting this update, the original post has over 800 views, so
people might not be posting, but they are still reading.

Anyhow... on with the news.

We are excited to see what you have built and are looking forward to seeing you!
It is amazing to see so many of you return.  With just over a month until
Brickfete, here is "10 Things You Should Know"

1.  This year ALL MOCs over the size of one grey (48x48) MUST BE registered.
(log into your account first and then go here)
http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/moc/upload/  MOC cards should have something you
want the public to read about your creation since they will be printed off and
waiting for you.  Please edit your cards accordingly.  Deadline for MOC uploads
is June 30th

2. Tentative schedule is up http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/Schedule

3. MOCs that are part of our chosen theme this year, and that are being entered
in our "Best of Show" contest, must have "Canadian Inventor Entry" or "Canadian
Invention Entry" on their MOC registration description.  (log into your account
first and then go here) http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/moc/upload/

4. Parking Passes will be able to be purchased for AFOL ($5 each) one time only!
That time is when you pick up your registration bag! Be sure to purchase enough
for the entire weekend as they are only good for a "one time" exit only. Passes
will be $10 for the remaining weekend, while supplies last.  Passes are
non-returnable, we are not responsible for lost or stolen passes.

5. Discovery Centre invite for Wednesday
http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/299

6. LEGO (run & organised) Castle Contest
http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/castlecontest

7. New for this year - Private "AFOL Only" Family Tour
http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/family

8.  New for this year - in lieu of MOC voting we will have Fan Appreciation -
http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/appreciation

9.  Once again we will be auctioning off MOCs for charity.  Please reply to this
email with a photo of your MOC if you are going to be donated something.

10. Our "play brick" a collection of donated brick from very generous AFOL.  We
are thankful and welcome donations at any time, however it is woefully short on
tires and wheels.  If you have some, that are in good condition and are not
being utilized, please consider donating them to Brickfete.  Thank you.

On behalf of the Brickfete staff,
See you in July!

Keep up with all the news on our Brickfete forums
http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/forum/ (you must be logged into your account)

Since Chris is so obviously enamoured with Chima (since he’s going on about his love affair with that theme in every conversation...), I think it’s time for a poll--

Chris should:
  1. build a 10 x 10 MOC for BrickFete using only his Chima collection
  2. nip off to Chimaland for a few days to quench his unrequited love
  3. Call up his buddy, James Cameron, to get him to hold Avatar 2 until he produces ‘Chima: Birds of a Feather--The Movie’
  4. there be more here at some point...
If you wanna know the results, there’ll be a special get together at BrickFete, at which point Chris can regal all of us as to what he did with his Chima love. Since this conversation may contain depictions of events not suitable for those of delicate sensibilities and/or appropriate for those that have issues with AFOL/Chima love, there will be warning signs posted, lest they be offended.

As for the rest, you’ll have to attend BrickFete to see what happens!

there's still a(n) Lugnet app for that... :)

its in.... http://members.lugnet.com/poll

I was going to set one up, but I got too excited and said I wanted 50 choices,
but then stopped at about 7 or so real choices and decided 43 other choices was
just too lame....
