Hello fellow CAD/POV users,
For the Garfield Heights
Homedays, Im going to be taking my laptop along to display CAD images and LEGO
Pov renders in a slideshow-type presentation (endlessly looping for the five
hours well be there).
I myself will have not near enough time to create a number of good POV renders
in time for the show, so Im asking for participation.
Its simple; all I want are renders youve done or someone elses that you have
their permission to use. They must be 800x600 or greater (thats the highest
resolution of my laptop, so it wont do you much good to go higher) and of
course be LEGO-related (but can be models, scenes, lightsabre duels, whatever).
If you have any wholly MLCAD-POV movies, I might be able to figure out how to
show them too.
If you have images that youre willing to let me display for all to see, please
email them to me or let me know where I can download them! I know theres a long
bit till the show, but I need to get started on this now or Ill never complete
it all in time.
I really appreciate any images you might like to share. If anybody from the
Ldraw.org group has some official images they might like to show, that would be
great too.
-Mike
PS: Yes, this is very much similar to Jeroens project for LEGOWORLD Zwolle in 2003. I was impressed with some of the
images I saw in the FTP directories, especially John P. Millers. If anybody
that submitted images for Jeroen still has them and wouldnt mind letting me
show them, please drop me a line!

Awesome, Mike! Take some pictures, write up an article, and well be sure to get
this up on LDraw.org!
Please, shoot me an email about the event as well -- Id like to know more about
what youre doing and how people react to it. Ive only done LDraw displays at
LEGO conventions and SIGGRAPH, so what youre doing is a different animal that
Id like to learn more about :-)

I try to keep images small for downloading from the net.
Larger sizes will work well directly from your computer.

Mike's unable to post to LUGNET right now, he asked me to post this in reply:
----------
Thanks, all, for the great responses! I see a lot of good work here that I can't
wait to display. I really didn't expect quite such a large response!!
My main computer (which has all my LUGNET cookies and such) is on the fritz
right now, which is why I asked Tim to post this for me.
I will be downloading the images ASAP to try and get a foolproof system running.
Knowing me, I'll be working on it till we arrive at the table...but we'll cross
that bridge when we get there. Until then, I really do appreciate all the
enthusiasm and response! I'll be making up a little poster with your names on it
to give you all the credit you deserve (unless, of course, you would rather me
not).
Ley, I could use some "peace and working computers" right now. :)
Thanks,
-Mike
