For whatever reason the inspiration hit me last night that the UFO aliens'
shoulder pads would make a great barbarian horde leader-type guy... and the new
Bulls' leader's head would go along great with that scheme... however since the
back of the shoulder pad piece is so high, most typical helmets won't fit :(
Has anyone actually done this successfully and made a relly cool barbarian-type
fig?

I liked the look of the UFO shoulder pads for armor, but I, too had had
trouble with fit issues. *twirls ends of handlebar moustache* Now I shall RULE
THE WORLD!
I find that the grey Ninja armor looks cool for either a) leather or padded
cloth armor for Castle dudes, or b) high-tech armor for SpaceGuys. I have one
"Space Marine" who is the refueling tech from 6582 Extreme Team flight Squad
with the aforementioned Ninja duds and a wacky weapon made from one of those
pistol-grip thingies with an antenna coming out the front, a bullhorn and a
couple of 1x1 cones and plates. If I can borry a camera from my pal, I'll post
pix.

Great picture ... when I first saw it it seemed that I was looking through the
eyes of a spy that has just been spotted and is in for some serious trauma. I
guess the sheer size of it did it. I need to keep that in mind whenever I take
some more pictures ...

Hey, that looks really cool! That army looks pretty impressive now.
Nice photography, too! Lighting's good, set-up is nice. I bet if you
digitally added some mist and trees behind them, it would look *really*
cool.

Finally somebody else realizes the potential of this wonderful piece! Using the
black ones, cut off a chunk on the back of a Batwing helmet, so it fits on the
shoulder pads. it looks pretty cool when he's all black with a cape under the
pads.

I've used them w/o a helmet. I used an all white minifig and put on the
aliens shoulder pads and the used old Islanders hair (the black one that
pulls kinda into a knot at the top of the head). I can't quite figure
out what to use in the top clip yet though.
Makes a great barbarian, but maybe not quiet the castle one you're
looking for. :)

pieces. Maybe gray, I couldn't tell from the pictures. Only one pads-piece
per set.

6969 - Celestial Stinger

Hey, I was in TRU today, looking for one of the sets that has this piece and I
saw one of the Sting Ray sets and began thinking that the gray Sting Ray helmet
would look really ominous as a barbarian helmet with some slight modification.
(talk about a run-on sentence) It would go great with the gray shoulder pads if
you trim it off around the bottom. Whatcha think?
