| Hello Jojo,
before reading your story, I just want to comment on the pics
that I saw earlier today.
I immediately searched for an anouncemnt from your side,
but didn't find any.... till now!
Wonderfll pics, wonderfull building: colour scheme light gray-tan works
fine,
the trees are * very * good! Are they your own design?
The architecture is very fine;
I liked the ceiling.
And now...
of for the story!
thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the praise!
I too am pleased with the outcome of the sandy-grey mottling. I pondered to
build it completely in sand (since the original is sand-coloured) but I didn't
have close to enough parts to do it, and there wouldn't have been the mottled
look.
The trees are my own design. I'm sure others came up with an idea like this
before, but I developed this design on my own.
The ceiling is always in danger f collapse... And I was lazy before I took the
pics and didn't fix the loose bricks. My fault.

Wow! I loved it! I loved the model, but I love the backstory even more.
I also thoroughly enjoyed all the detail work involved and your
special added touches like the bird cage, the harp and Black
Falcon guy.

I'll second all the compliments. One thing I wanted to add was that I also
saw the pictures first. That there was a story about a young woman becoming
a wizard and them setting out and finding her own home was quite obvious.

Thanks for the praise!
Well, the story... I don't build for the purpose of illustrating stories, but I
wrote the story to accompany the pictures. I'm afraid this does affect the
quality of the story...
Henceforth there shall not be a gallery without a black falcon guy :-)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Jojo, this structure is so impressive! Every once in a while I get it in my
head that Im starting to become a good builder, but then something like this
comes along and I feel humbled.
Excellent job capturing the overall look of the building, especially the shape
of columns. But most impressive to me, of the exterior, is the gorgeous roof.
And inside it just gets better. I love the patterened tile floor. The vaulted
ceiling is incredible! The kitchen details are great: the knife holder, the
rolling pin and cutting board, the hanging garlic bulbs, and the creation of an
onion using the carrot leaf and tan ball piece.
The construction of the chest of drawers and canopy bed are superb, and the
bedroom is well-decorated throughout. The chair designs in the study are
lovely.
And those bird cages! Wow. Brilliant.
This was all a lot of fun to look at. Congratulations, and best of luck in the
contest!

Oooh, actually you are the last one to have reason to feel humbled! Your skills
of illustrating a story (the Bible, but whom do I tell that) are hardly equaled.

Hehe, I happened to have a not too small an amount of those flat roof-tiles, but
I had to order almost the same amount again.
> And inside it just gets better. I love the patterened tile floor.
I'm addicted to tiled floors. They add 'something' to a room even if the room is
empty.
> the creation of an onion using the carrot leaf and tan ball piece.
I have to credit Jürgen Lüttgen with this onions. When I showed him preview pics
of the kitchen he came up with this idea. And yes, It's a great one!

Yeah, to carpenter LEGO furniture is a hobby of mine :-)
> And those bird cages! Wow. Brilliant.
Those bird cages are the product of a sleeples night. I paid for them with a
headache the next day...

Thank you very much! I did not particularly build for the contest, though. I
build to show it to everybody, and I'm glad you liked it!

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This MOC is truly amazing!!
Jojo, your work constantly astounds me. You are constantly raising the bar.
The arched ceiling is absolutely fantastic, and is made even more remarkable by
the fact that you dont seem to use any specialized elements to pull it off!
And I must solute you for not using any new gray. This just rules
Later.

I don't hope so. Maybe I'd not be able to jump over it myself...

For the arched ceiling I used the most ordinary and non-specialized bricks
imaginable, i.e. 2x4 bricks and 2x2 bricks :-) It's an unsteady design, though.
Moving the roof module around several times caused the bricks to seperate as can
be seen in the pics.
> And I must solute you for not using any new gray. This just rules
That's a question of honour.
The few new-coloured bricks I happen to own (shame on me!) are in the quarantine
bag, locked away in the poison cabinet...
