Re: LUGNET is moving servers once more

Hi everybody, the server move as such has been very successful this time as opposed to previous moves. Not only did the move just take a mere 2 hours, primarily due to the low bandwidth available to transfer all the files and fix a few settings. (...)   Re: Are you missing news-by-mail digests/forwards?

(...) In theory, that would be a way of handling things. In practice, this would overthrow the way mailing lists (not only LUGNET but in general) have handled header setting and reply behavior. (...) yes. this touches on what I meant. And let me say, NNTP and the e-mail lists are extremely important to me. Todd was teaching himself Perl as he created LUGNET. This is what I'd call "personal project driven learning." Anyone who's done this (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jul-05, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Undeliverable Mail goes to news poster?

I keep getting mail bounces for LUGNET.pirates which Steve Barile apparently subscribed for mail delivery. Maybe it's the wrong behavior for Steve's (former?) internet provider, maybe it's LUGNET?   Re: Change in handling of real names on LUGNET web pages?

Honestly, using people's real names is part of what I always liked about LUGNET-- when someone says "Did you see that new model by Edgar Jones?" it's more personal than when you say "Did you see that new model by ButtonBlaster26?"
