Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) I think the panels work well on some models. For example as weapon mounts (they're not weapons, they're tools) on the 8444 Air Enforcer: (URL) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

I had a look at a retailers catalog and what it looks like is a new kind of 2x2 pillar with grooves on all four sides, into which panels slide to form the walls.   Re: Jack Stone= Playmobil anyone?

(...) I have a question about that. Can anyone figure out how the 4611 police station is constructed. It looks like they took long 1x1x8 bricks and set them on end and I can't recognize the attachments used to construct the different floors. Anyone (...) (...) By the way, do anybody think that the body of this vehicle looks like a Land Rover Freelander? A lot of the body features reminds me of this car, like the front grilles, and the sloping rear end. The Land Rover Freelander is a fairly new lower (...)   Re: Jack Stone= Playmobil anyone?

Relax, No one is ignoring you, I am just wondering about something other than what you keep adressing. Namely, Lego creating toys that do not need to be constructed, a la playmobil. Once you enter a new market, As they are with Jack stone, you them (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) No bias there. LOL. I guess it's OK but those panels are just too ubiquitious for my taste, seems everything uses them. Ought to be a good source of tubing, though. Plus it has tank car sections (er, 5561 hubs) in grey. ++Lar (who still hasn't (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

(...) Hmmm... At first I though those were gold like those on the C3PO. Can you give us more detail about the set, like does it have real 4 wheel suspension and other mechanical features? (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

(...) Was lucky enough to get to play with one of those bad boys this weekend! WOW...it is AMAZING!! Great mix of beams (underneath) and panels (in new sparkly green color) and tubes. Isn't anyone paying attention to what I had said? Jack Stone is intended to bridge the gap between DUPLO and LEGO - these kinds of sets ARE NOT replacing what you are used to seeing from LEGO System. (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)
