| | Announcing new Legend!
| Taking a break from reading the 250+ color change posts, I just got the green light to announce a new Legend! And it's ....drum roll please.... 5541 - (URL) Model Team Hot Rod>! The Hot Rod first raced into the hands of LEGO collectors in 1995, and (...) (21 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.lego.announce, lugnet.lego, lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.year.2004, lugnet.general, FTX) !!
| | | | catalog scan
| Back in 2001 the LEGO Shop-at-Home catalog showed "instructions" for building a schoolhouse with bulk packs. I can't find my 2001 catalogs. Can someone who has one please scan that page for me? Russell (21 years ago, 27-Apr-04, to lugnet.db.scans, lugnet.inst, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.town)

| My impression is that the 2004 sets have improved architecture: between Harry Potter and Spider-man there are much better looking, less juniorized buildings this year. At least, there is more ornament. There's the laid-on plate roof of the castle, (...) (21 years ago, 16-Apr-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.castle, lugnet.year.2004)
| | | | Re: Jack Stone Spiderman characters can move hands!
| (...) It's possible, but it seems oddly unnecessary. The CPSA prohibits small pieces in toys intended for children under 3, but the most recent renaming of the old Jack Stone line to "LEGO 4+" is about as clear a message as you can get that it's not (...) | (...) Swallowing risk? Movable is not the same as removable... Maybe they think they've made the arms in a way that they can't be pulled off by even a very determined toddler, but didn't see how to prevent the helmet from being swallowed, so it's (...) | | | | Jack Stone Spiderman characters can move hands!
| I just bought the Jack Stone Spiderman set and lo and behold, the hands can move like a minifig's. I don't know if this will be a permanent change to the Jack Stone line or not. There are also a couple of "fleshies" in the set, although one of the (...) (21 years ago, 10-Apr-04, to lugnet.year.2004, FTX)
| | | | Are new colors in old sets yet?
| I'm planning to buy some extra pre-2004 sets to increase my supply of old gray, while I can. I'd like to help support TLC by buying directly from S@H, rather than hunting for discounts elsewhere. But this raises an important question: Are there sets (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.year.2003, lugnet.general)

| | | | 2004 American International Toy Fair Pictures on FBTB
| For those who aren't aware, FBTB is covering the Toy Fair in New York and pictures of new 2004 sets are starting to appear there. So far there are Duplo, Quatro, Dora, Creator, Designer (mecha!), and Technic pictures on there. I'm expecting Star (...)
