| | Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship
| Well, I've waited some months, but finally this ship was on deep discount. First: it IS a JacStone set, so as expected, there are ugly figs and lots of big pieces. It's intended for 4-year old kids, and indeed there is hardly anything in it that is (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.year.2004)
| | | | Announcing new Legend!

| Taking a break from reading the 250+ color change posts, I just got the green light to announce a new Legend! And it's ....drum roll please.... 5541 - (URL) Model Team Hot Rod>! The Hot Rod first raced into the hands of LEGO collectors in 1995, and (...) (21 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.lego.announce, lugnet.lego, lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.year.2004, lugnet.general, FTX) !!

| My impression is that the 2004 sets have improved architecture: between Harry Potter and Spider-man there are much better looking, less juniorized buildings this year. The CPSA prohibits small pieces in toys intended for children under 3, but the most recent renaming of the old Jack Stone line to "LEGO 4+" is about as clear a message as you can get that it's not (...) | (...) Swallowing risk? Movable is not the same as removable... Maybe they think they've made the arms in a way that they can't be pulled off by even a very determined toddler, but didn't see how to prevent the helmet from being swallowed, so it's (...) | | | | Jack Stone Spiderman characters can move hands!
| I just bought the Jack Stone Spiderman set and lo and behold, the hands can move like a minifig's. I don't know if this will be a permanent change to the Jack Stone line or not. There are also a couple of "fleshies" in the set, although one of the (...) (21 years ago, 10-Apr-04, to lugnet.year.2004, FTX)
