My thoughts on the 2001 sets (Life on Mars and LEGO Studios) —Frank Filz
I've built a bunch of the 2001 sets, I've got all but the largest sets in these two themes (7317 was not to be found in my local stores and since I don't have a USB port, I will be waiting to buy 1349 until I can get it on sale). I haven't built all (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews) !

Just thought I'd drop in a few comments of my own, having grabbed a couple of Life on Mars sets from the local TRU. First off, some overall comments about the theme - looks like LEGO is getting its groove back. These models are interesting, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews)

(...) Correct, excluding which aliens might be in the large set, there is no duplication of aliens. (...) I disagree, I think the new blue in 7313 is the blue in the new range of greyish colors. This light blue is somewhat greyish, but not as grey (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews)

(...) My only grip (And it's a very small one) is that the arms and body of the aliens are robotic like and the head and legs are all soft and swishy... (...) In regards to the latter, who doesn't! Those two sets are great! Quantity time! Dean -- (...) (24 years ago, 3-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews)

(...) The grip is in the Studio sets, not the Life on Mars sets.... GDR :-) While it would have been nice if they had come up with some other way to do the Martians, I think they actually look decent. They really don't look that mechanical (any more (...)    Looking at the catalog pic of the new LoM set, it appears that the pnuematic thing sends Martian figures through the tubes to the stations. It also looks like the tan station from 7316 fits on the end of one of the tubes. I'm wondering if 7313 and (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.year.2001)
