Anybody notice that LEGO left out a vast majority of LEGO product from the 2001 catalog that was released in the calender year 2000? (...) There is no relation at all. They are a true mystery, because they look more like something between Duplo and System (yet Duplo can work with System!). The 48x48 gray baseplate got a new number once. I was able to buy several hundred at clearance prices because they had the old discontinued number on them.
