Has anyone else noticed a white box on the side of the 2001 set boxes? Any
idea what it is?

| (...) I noticed it, but I haven't thought about its meaning. It's probably for the stores to mark them in some way (clearance?), but they don't (yet). Or maybe you are just supposed to put a big check mark in there after you buy the set. No, that's (...) (24 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

| (...) I know I've seen that now and then on a variety of packages, not just LEGO. My impression has always been that it is a place for the merchant to put the price sticker without marring the packaging - not that they always do... John #388 (24 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)
