Do you have a membership roster yet? Is this causing any friction with the
GMLTC? Larger question, is it possible to be an "active member" of two
groups at the same time? (I think it is, but am interested in the dynamics
aspect). Note that Scott Sanburn is, but that's a geographic situation.

Speaking as an "active" GMLTC member, I think it *is* causing some friction.

I've heard both sides of this on and off forum, and to a certain extent I'm
sorry I even brought it up... let me try to restate the question, divorcing
it from this particular situation.

Is it possible to be an active member of more than one group at the same
time? Clearly if the groups are widely different it is (you can belong to a
stamp club and a soccer team, no overlap). Also, you could say really, that
MichLUG and MichLTC are more or less the 'same' group, so to speak.

I'm a gadfly, I participate in groups when I am in the area that they are,
but I guess there IS only so much time to go around. Posting time cuts into
building time. Working on your website cuts into sorting time. Selling stuff
cuts into design time. Arguing politics cuts into brickwars time. (and lets
NOT EVEN talk about how much negative impact on modeling there is from
eating, sleeping, working and bathing...)

This may be an unimportant question so freely ignore it if you want.

Of course since J-2 has only attended a couple of GMLTC building sessions in the last several months, perhaps we should consider him an "in name only" member... He (...)
