| | Re: shroud for train motor wheels
| Great work guys! The work and discovery by Jeremy, Dave, and Steve shown below inspired me to try a similar shroud for non-motorized 9v train wheels. As 9v volt wheel housings are exactly 6 studs wide, the edge-to-edge solution shown below is wider (...) (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) The timing of this thread is incredible!! (perhaps uncanny) -- since I was about to ask this same question. I know all about using alcohol from Wayne. So I tried a new household sponge soaked in 91% rubbing alchol (typical rubbing alchol is (...) (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

| | Signals: a new design, for everyone to build
| As a follow-up to Thomas Burger's signal-design: herewith a modern one, as seen on the railwaystation from Nijmegen-the Netherlands. I've build it (compleet in black), but the real-life-Lego pics come tomorrow. Low batteries... :-( This one follows (...) (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Train Layout help needed
| (...) Hi Anne, electrical damage is very difficult to achieve with LEGO 9V trains - usually it just doesn't work and you'll notice before any harm is done. However, your layout will work - electrically. I am somewhat curious how you plan to set the (...) (17 years ago, 16-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)

| | The story is like this...
| A friend of mine that has a wholesale account with lego heard from some person inside lego that they were going to scrap the current 9v track and go for a non powered track setup, more like duplo trains (the person at lego didnt say why but I think (...) (22 years ago, 5-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: My Santa Fe Train Kit Theories
| I also am a firm believer in running short trains with LEGO®. Not only do they tax the 9V motors less, but they're easier to manage and somehow convey a more dramatic effect to my eyes...especially when using two-axle equipment. -Harvey (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains)
