Whoa, that is interesting... I just got the Summer 2003 catalog, unfortunately it doesn't show much track, just one full straight and the switch and curves in the set.   Consensus for Table Barriers at BrickFest??
 
For the lobby area big train display, I am wondering what the opinions are regarding table barriers. Brickfest, to me, is an event where table barriers are not really necessary for purposes of keeping fingers off of the Lego. But the open to the (...) (...) OK I should point out that bridge was built by Wayne Hussey, not me! And if you click on the pic you'll get more info, including the fact that it carries 2 tracks, separated by 4 studs, so yes, it's plenty wide enough for 2 8-wide trains! (...) I see that the main issue is the flex track. I am not really looking for larger radius and flex track, because that will probably take more space in a layout..... :) What I can say of a professional point of few is that soft plastics can be turned (...)   Compatibility of Duplo Intelli-trains with older Duplo trains
 
I am looking at buying some of the new Intelli-trains for my nephe. To what extent are the new Intelli-trains compatible with the older Duplo trains? Can they use the same track? What about going to radioshack/canadian tire and buying a universal transformer? They arent very expensive. However, I dont know what the characteristics of a lego train tranformer are. Of course, since this is Toronto, a visit to Active Surplus (...) (23 years ago, 14-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

IIRC given a 3225 and track only, he'll need a full 4548 Speed Regulator package, which includes a AC adapter transformer, a speed regulator itself (the black panel with the big yellow knob) and a track tap wire.
