  LDD Train parts are 9V...

Using my contacts within the LEGO Factory team I have been able to determine that all train parts (Motor and Track) are from the 9V system not the new IR system. I am currently working to determine why there is such a large price differance between (...) (18 years ago, 18-May-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

It was a few months ago but the Bodville layout was at Malkara again this year and I finally got around to hosting some photo's. They are now on the Bodville (mostly trains) website in the layouts section. (URL) The 2008 Malkara Layout used this (...) (16 years ago, 7-Dec-08, to lugnet.trains)

  9v vs 12v in traction

Several measures to increase traction for the 12v trains do not present in the 9v trains, for example the serrated tracks, the rubber bands on wheels, and the inclusion of weight bricks in the locomotive. Does it mean a 12v locomotive can pull a lot (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

Cool, missed that part. Now...details on the sizing, where to buy, etc? I'm sure I could bore out some brass rod, but if you have a supplier that stocks the right size, it would save a ton of time... (...) (19 years ago, 16-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Train Layout Modules

After some intensive building over the last 2 weeks I have completed 20 modules of a new 8mm scale British railway layout to a reasonable standard. The layout features track slopes of up to 1 in 30, varying by 0.5 plate/12 stud length. All the (...)   Re: Review of 7897 Passenger Train available at ILTCO site

(...) Thanks Lar. Interesting write up. I would assume that for a "normal" metal clad 9v rail system, the new IR baseplate can be designed into a rail car which has independent remote control of a model feature. For example, assuming you can power a (...) (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) While you're at it, can you confirm how the motor box is seeled shut, glue, screws or deformed tas like the old 9v motor. Also the new technic axel wheels have the traction tire on them, perhaps that's why they are solid. Pity they didn't redo (...) (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Yes. But you only get one control input so you may need to use reversible drive mechanisms that do different things in different directions, etc if you want two features... The RC cars have more than one control input but are too big to build (...) (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) The idea is usuful, because I run my trains on both 9V and 12V, so I needed way which is easy and fast. I could probably have a way with both 12V connectors and a 9V connector, but that would not be so easy. Also, this was a first attempt for (...) (23 years ago, 29-May-01, to lugnet.trains)
