Rick/John, Hi... I'm just about recovered from the trip. The locomotive that Rick asked about is powered by an old 12v mechanism with siderods. It has it's bronze power pick-ups taped-back and draws power from the tender which has a standard 9v (...) (25 years ago, 31-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains)

Hey John, I just started using MLCAD on my PB 1400 (G3 upgraded) boy is it pokey, but it works. It is a menu driven program so it is easy to figure out. I couldn't figure out LDRAW within the first 60 seconds so I gave up on it. So far I have drawn (...) (25 years ago, 24-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

Hi Adriling, I've got large quantities of 12V track, points, crossovers both new and used which I've kept for trades. I buy 12V train collections for the rollingstock parts (doors, windows, roof pieces, wagon plates, wheel sets etc.) which I use or (...) (25 years ago, 11-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

If you're a 'collector', then the boxes are important, but since I'm a builder (not a collector) and have no intention of selling my LEGOs, I don't save the boxes ... but I do save the back panel from most boxes since they show alternative building (...) Hi Alan, So you got got the other two 5071 packs. I got another two packs prior to these but they had different numbers...I think they were 114# or 10##? The banks *are* able to apply lower charges if they want. When you are in a strong position against them you can get very good conditions. (...) that's (...) transformer (...) transformer (...) by transformer do you mean the lego speed controller? If it's a yes there is no problem feeding it with 7.5V DC. The input will accept 9V to 12V AC or DC for full performance (0V to 9V at the (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) that's (...) transformer (...) I just opened a LEGO TRAIN SPEED REGULATOR and drawn a shematic of it. I did this once before but lost the paper. Now to the point: The INPUT of the regulator may be an AC or a DC signal. Even reversing the (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Actually, lowering the voltage would lower the current draw too with a constant load. Of course a motor is anything but a linear load, and it does tend to draw more current at slower rpm. In any case, you're not going to break it, since the 9v train (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)
