That engine you're making is pretty neat. I also use dummy headlights on
all my MOC's (I sell the light fixtures on Brickbay), I realise that if you
can't light everything then why light just your trains if your town/layout
is dark too. I've stuck mainly to four-wheel equipment of European type,
although I'm planning to resurrect my large 12-axle flat car as well.
Getting back to the Santa Fe unit you're working on, it appears to be
patterned after a General Motors Electro-Motive Division GP38 or GP40. These
developed 2000HP and 3000HP respectively from the model 645 diesel prime
mover. My suggestion? Make a matching caboose to go with it. Best of
luck...-Harvey

| Tonight I started work on a Santa Fe locomotive based on a picture in an LGB catalog. Although I can't find a picture of the exact train on the web anywhere, the picture in the LGB catalog is fairly close to this one: (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)
