(...) snip the rest of the answer Thanks, I was basing my guess on the slang blower = supercharger; I couldn't remember if the SD40-2 were turbo/supercharged. No need to answer that one I can look it up when I get home. I have to laugh...what is a (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Oops, sorry so late... It seems someone (;-) introduced this thread into lugnet.build (which I read daily), with followups immediately to lugnet.trains (which I don't normally read). I kept wondering why there was no further discussion on an (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Who says the word snot is bad? Just watch Earthworm Jim! :-, Some of the maligned parts, such as BURPs, have found some very good uses as well. But they still keep the derogatory name. A piece is only useless or overspecialized until someone (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Gee, when you said Studs Not On Top I thought your were refering to a building style; using bricks in a way that their studs are not on top where they should be. For example mounting bricks sideways so the studs are hidden or point out instead of (...) (25 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: My EMD SD40-2

(...) Ya know, I never thought of it (the acronym) that way, but that's a very decent angle (1) as well -- and very closely related to SNOTs as pieces, to boot. Perhaps a better acronym would indicate an aversion to stud-oriented thinking, or an (...) (25 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)
