  New Images of 2006 Trains

LEGO has provided ILTCO with some new images of the 2006 Trains. Check them out in the ILTCO Gallery: The new images start after the box images.   Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) Thanks Mike and ILTCO! Something just occurred to me and maybe I'm just clueless, but it appears to me that the wheels on the green croc are new, a la BBB small wheels, using a technic axle. Does the ICE train use the same wheel type? And if (...) (18 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) As does the points pack. Another two redundant curve pieces. And some people thought that the 8 curves in the standard track pack were a waste... Jason R (18 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) The only thing you missed is people saying the same before. ;-) These pics are the first ones where it has been possible to properly see the wheels, they look like cheap BBB knockoffs! (baecause the spokes are only relief mouldings) Pity they (...) (18 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) Presumably you could make something like an articlated lorry, with the motor in the cab and the baseplate for the trailer. If you fitted an anti-jack-knifing mechanism you could get some control through reverse steering too. Then again, you (...) (18 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) I originally thought that, since the set comes with 2 switches, you could do a smaller half loop in a big one-- Bad ASCII graphix below-- ------ / \ \ | | | | | | \ / / ------ But I think you would need at least 4 spare curves, combined with (...) (18 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) I've had a plan for a while now to build a Paris Metro train that runs on racers track using the new IR engine. Unfortunately the baseplate/batterybox design put a a minor dampener in my plan and I'll probably have to wait to get one and try (...) (18 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) The pics I got at Toy Fair were of preprod stuff (witness the use of a metal railed turnout in old gray), so don't really help. The spoked wheels are there but the motor block on that one appears not to have technic axles: (URL) (and others in (...) (18 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) This was bugging me as well, so I tried a few things in TrackDraw and came up with this: (URL) 8 straights, 20 curves, one left and one right point. It *nearly* works. There is about a stud overlap on the top right corner. I doubt that this is (...) (18 years ago, 23-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
