Dear Ben,
Thank you for your comments. As I mentioned in the first post, your models were
quite a learning (thieving ;)) point for me.

I would love to see it made real too and was going to try it until I discovered
that the wheels sell for an average of 23USD which would make it a very
expensive train. Unfortunately I think it may remain a CAD model unless a huge
stash of those wheels is uncovered and lowers the price significantly.

That's a very interesting solution. I suspect it is probably more structurally
sound than mine. I will email you the MPD of my solution (you will have to
imagine the rubber bands) for you to have a look at. I didn't upload it because
there are a lot of overlapped parts in the boiler (it is all buildable but I
didn't take the time to fix some errors) and I would like to make sure it is
correct before publically releasing the design.

Wow. That is extremely impressive. I may steal this design if I try another
steamer since I would prefer to use a known success than a potential solution.

I'm not so sure what you mean here. I will look carefully over the pictures to
see but if you could point me to a picture which shows clearly what you mean it
would be very much appreciated.

Yes. Those ladders were a bit of a weak point I thought. Unfortunately I wasn't
sure how much clearance I had for the magnet etc. so I was being extra careful
with space. I did just have an idea of how I might be able to make this ladder
so I will try this experiment.

I very much appreciate constructive criticism as it helps me improve the design
and future designs. The cow catcher turned out better than I expected for such a
simple design so I was very happy with it. I was suggested by Samarth Moray to
use a starfish for the star at the front which I think would have been quite
good but I could think of no satisfactory way to attach it so I chose to use the
SW tile instead.

Thank you (and everyone else who has commented),

| (...) Dear Tim, you did an excellent job on your Russion L-Class! I enjoyed it a lot to surf through your gallery and compare that with the real stem engines you have linked. I would love to see that design done in real bricks. Concerning the wheel (...) (19 years ago, 28-Dec-05, to lugnet.trains)
