Actually, this is something I've noticed quite often, but haven't seen
discussed. Most of the pictures I see of American train shows suggest the
majority of trains running are official models. With European train shows,
there are very few, if indeed any at all.

| (...) I'm not sure that's an accurate sampling, then. Perhaps for clubs just getting started, it is, but the vast majority of stuff running on more established club layouts at shows is scratchbuilt. Yes, you'll see some stock stuff, but take a look (...) (20 years ago, 4-May-05, to lugnet.trains)
