I'm not sure that's an accurate sampling, then. Perhaps for clubs just getting
started, it is, but the vast majority of stuff running on more established club
layouts at shows is scratchbuilt. Yes, you'll see some stock stuff, but take a
look at, for example, the past events of MichLUG (www.michlug.org/events I
think, behind a VPN and can't check!)
As I said before, I think it's a good thing to run official models **in
moderation**, because I think drawing the mundanes in to the hobby is goodness.
Some of them will become AFOLs, (or realise they are) and even for the rest that
don't, more purchases of trains means more models developed by LEGO.
It's not a view shared by all, I admit... I suggest that if you are a North
American club and you want to run European stuff, you're sort of saying you hold
the opposite view, that you'd rather not devote effort to attracting mundanes
in, that is, you'd rather not devote effort in helping LEGO market trains where
they seem not to be able to market themselves. Which is fine.

Again, I'm not sure. I seem to recall seeing pretty comprehensive collections of
all the 12V sets at LegoWORLD.
