Right.

Michiana-LUG / LTC is pretty stabile, we had a couple of new people, but mostly
it is the same people in terms of the growth of the club. While it would be
great to have more people, I don't think it is critical.
We are aiming for about 4 shows a year, we did 3 last year, and we are looking
at up to 5 this year, depending on the schedule.
I wanted to write a more detailed report, but Tony Hedglen and myself went to a
local N scale club, SVJRR ( http://www.sjvrr.com/ ), in Mishawaka, Indiana, a
couple of weeks ago, to show off some LEGO trains and talk about a swap meet
they host every year, and the possibility of us showing of a small layout there,
and it went really well. The people were very nice, and very open to LEGO
trains, and we are looking forward to that next month, as it is the first local
Michiana show we will attend.
As for the layout size, I think our last show at Fort Wayne GATS and Cantigny
are about as big as we can manage with the average participation of our shows
being 6 club mumbers. Those were 30x17, but it was in a rough "S" shape.
I think our next big area of focus will be more train items (I have a whole list
of stock train cars I want to build) some more local passenger and cargo trains,
and more detail in general (The more brick in the layout), mostly having to do
with different elevations.
Burnout has not been too big of an issue for me, outside of doing 2 shows in a
month or less, that gets a little hard. My big fear is that due to my current
work situation, all I have time for lately is to build and get ready for shows,
and that is not too fun.
All in all, I am having a lot of fun at shows, and at our meetings. I think that
is what is really important, if you don't enjoy the people and don't enjoy the
shows, it is not worth it. I certainly would not spend all the money I do if I
didn't think it was a good thing to do.
