| | I'm nearly finished with my HE 4-6-0, and thought I'd share some pics. It uses 3 pair of the BBB regular drive wheels, non are blind drive wheels. And it had a drive rods spannig all tree wheel sets. After experimenting I had several ideas to get 3 (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains)

| | | | (...) Mat, I like the way you handled the middle wheelset. It looks great. The two stud axel with the technic triangle widgit thingy (LD part #2825) for the extra 0.5 stud is a great idea. Where, by the way, did you get the spring? The local (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains)

I cut it to 2/3 stud width. A spring from an old keyboard may be better suited. (...) (20 years ago, 6-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains)

It also doesn't put any pressure on the outer wheel when the inner one is pushed in, which could make the outer rod rub. The disadvantages are that the (...) | | | | | (...) Jason, Thanks for the heads up. I'm real happy with what I have, as it's simple. As it is, if one wheel is pushed in, it can only push the other middle wheel to the same extent as the front and back drive wheels, so no rubbing. Also I wanted (...)
