Mine, a few posts back, uses technic flex for drive rods. That keeps the total
width down. It also doesn't put any pressure on the outer wheel when the inner
one is pushed in, which could make the outer rod rub.
The disadvantages are that the wheel on mine folds in rather than slides
sideways, so the technic axle pin from the connecting rod can rub slightly. You
also need to chop up some flex to get the short lengths for the rods.

| (...) Jason, Thanks for the heads up. I'm real happy with what I have, as it's simple. As it is, if one wheel is pushed in, it can only push the other middle wheel to the same extent as the front and back drive wheels, so no rubbing. Also I wanted (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains)
