Bruce,

Glad to hear your comments about our latest layout.  As Paul has already
mentioned, some of our MOCs were built using images of similar items from
the internet, as well as real items some of us found in books or remember
from having seen in our past.  For example, the court house is a recreation
of a similar building in Nevada built during the silver mining days.  The
firehouse is a recreation of an actual fire house in Los Angeles.  Idea's
also came from Western movies and TV shows.  And others are just made up
from the builders imagination.  So there was lots of creativity in putting
together this layout.

As far as the difference between the 2 clubs, it can best be described as 2
train clubs that just so happen to have members from similar geographic
areas.  Just as there are multiple G, O, HO and N gauge train clubs in this
area, we now have 2 LTC's in southern Calfironia.

Hi Ray,

This is really a wonderful display.  I'm a big fan of the short-lived • Western
theme, so it's great to see a lot of creations in this vein.  My favorite
individual creations include:

The fire engine:

The old hearse waiting for the condemned man:

This cattle car design:

This water tower:

On the overall layout, I really like the depth of this valley:

and the way you varied the ground colors from tan to sand green to green • (also
brown elsewhere in the layout).  Another nice detail is how you took the • time to
lay brown plates across all the railroad ties.

One complaint.  This checkers game won't last very long:

The first person to move will get a king and win the game.  :)

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the distinction between the SPLTC and the
SCLTC?
