  Re: The Free Super Chiefs

(...) system at some time. If you want/need 4 soda bottles but the limit is two, don't you just go to another checkot with the others??? In the first place, it is not fair that the first quality set lego has made in years is limited to three per (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: The Free Super Chiefs

(...) Oh James, I think that's too harsh. Working around the system, yes - I'll agree with that. But the three free 10020s were probably the result of an error on LEGO's part - not any sort of 'theft'. Personally, anytime LEGO gives me something (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: The Free Super Chiefs

Wow you must be so proud of your dad, he's taught you all kind of good lessons today. First how to try and get around the system, how to make threats to get your way and how to steal. "Gee dad you're the best" jt ---...--- James J. Trobaugh (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOC: Union Station - Kansas City, MO

(...) I'm guessing it's done by using technic 1x2 twin-hole bricks with half-pegs in, then fitting tiles to the side. If you look at the base, there could be one facing out to each side with a 1x2 tile on, then one at the front with a 1x4 tile (...)   Re: MOC: Union Station - Kansas City, MO

(...) An elegant compromise! The SNOT glass awning is one of my favorite details of this all-around beautiful MOC. Forgive me for saying so, but I was relieved to see that your decorative and highly innovative roof at least has an ugly underneath. (...)   Re: How to make a plow!?

Josh, I don't do trains myself - no room. But when I read your post on Lugnet, a vinatge piece came to mind. I looked it up on Peeron & it is available in a year 2000 set. Have you tried this piece? (URL) thinking using this piece flat to form the (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  The Free Super Chiefs

(...) Okay, My Dad too tried this and the lady on the phone accepted our order for ten more. (This was weeks ago...) We got a letter in the mail saying that our order was canceled due to the limited nature of the series. They must double check (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOC: Union Station - Kansas City, MO

(...) What an apt use of the term! LUGNET (or a club that gets together) at its best is just this, a virtuous cycle of continuous improvement. (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.ks, lugnet.loc.us.mo.kan)

Re: MOC: Union Station - Kansas City, MO

(...) Thank you. Those are very high words of praise, and I am flattered by your "de-lurking" to let me know your thoughts. Around 4 years back, I was just starting out with my own MOC's, and was inspired (probably even intimidated?) by all the (...)   Re: Super Chiefs all gone?

(...) OK, then I should have said: Sometimes, at the utter discretion and whimsy of the person answering the phone at S@H, you can order 3 more after your initial order. It worked for me today. (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOC: Union Station - Kansas City, MO

(...) Oops. No offense meant to any of the other memorials, or to the people that are memorialized therein. I misquoted, and I believe a more accurate statement would be that Liberty Memorial is the only "national monument" for WWI (URL) dedication (...)   Re: Train motor repair-9v

I also sent an email to Lego S@H. I did not receive a direct response, but yesterday I received a replacement motor, free of charge. Great service! (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOC: Union Station - Kansas City, MO

i don't respond to hardly any MOC posts, maybe 1 or 2 in all the time i've been lurking on lugnet. but this...... this is probably one of the most beautifully designed buildings made out of LEGO i have ever seen. even though it is modeled after the (...)
