Re: Gray VS. Black Metroliner Nose

(...) I think I prefer the grey, but that seems to be non-prototypical (in as far as the Metroliner is based on the Metroliner): (URL) C. (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: International LegoTrain Auctions

I look for old 12v and 4.5v trains every week. I used to be able to type in "lego eisenbahn" pull up alot of trains from Germany. Now I can only pull up those sets by going to the international site. I didn't realize there was a change until a few (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Gray VS. Black Metroliner Nose

(...) For those who haven't seen one with a grey nose, Paul B kindly lent me 2 of his grey noses, and I took a side-by-side shot. I think I still prefer the black, but I'm not sure yet... (URL) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: International LegoTrain Auctions

Man, I'm trying to get my hands on one of those. I don't have one, and have never had one in my hand. Pity... -Rob "Frank Filz" <ffilz@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:3C8E7658.9EE9C5...ing.com... (...) of (...) results. (...) experienced (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Track Designer Registry

(...) While I like Java more than most, that would be a complete rewrite, ne? And I have to agree with Kevin D. (and Joel, his reference, whom I've enjoyed reading for years now) that a complete rewrite is hardly ever a good idea. But then I'm an (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Track Designer Registry

(...) Run under linux? music to my ears... Rather than move to .NET would you (Matt) consider moving it to a more cross-platform system, such as Java? --Bill. (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Track Designer Registry

(...) Personally, I think a rewrite would be a bad idea, although some reorganizing of the code might be good. (keep in mind I haven't seen the code) Typically what happens in largish software projects is they go along for a few years, adding (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Track Designer Registry

(...) Do you still have the zip file I sent you? That would save me having to redo what I did for you already. And my memory would have been better back then! Matt (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  International LegoTrain Auctions

Before the end of last year, I purchased several 12 volt Lego trains off of ebay from sellers in Europe. When I would search, I would get many results. Now when I search, I get no results from Europe? Has anyone else experienced this? I was (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: train motors (was Re: TEXLUG Meeting Wrap-up)

Sorry guys! Yes, John caught me. I was gearing up for April 1 and forgot to post it Off-topic. (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: train motors (was Re: TEXLUG Meeting Wrap-up)

(...) Well yes that's true, or you could just open the motor and reverse some of the wiring inside so that the motor runs the opposite direction of a stock motor, but I really doubt it would be worth the effort. If you really want to crash them, (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: train motors (was Re: TEXLUG Meeting Wrap-up)

Hate to disagree with you Robert, but the LEGO train motors don't work that way. It doesn't matter which way you put them on the track, they will all travel in the same direction. You can not run to motors on the same loop of track in opposite (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: train motors (was Re: TEXLUG Meeting Wrap-up)

<Snip> (...) It is my experience that all of the train motors are directional. I frequently use 2 motors per train and if you don't get them both going the same direction, well, the train won't go anywhere. I usually look on the bottom of the motors (...)   Re: Modern Santa Fe Freight Diesel

(...) Thanks. (...) I'll work on posting some instructions. I'll post again when they are up on BrickShelf. It's a pretty simple design; not too sure how realistic it is. I modelled these container cars just to have something half-way relevant (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

train motors (was Re: TEXLUG Meeting Wrap-up)

(...) Well, since you've "butt" in (which is just fine, any advice is welcome ;-) how can you alter the direction of a train motor? Can you modify the motor or controller? TJ (23 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug, lugnet.trains)

Re: Modern Santa Fe Freight Diesel

James, The engine is coming along well, I just noticed V3 on Brickshelf. Also I wanted to know if you have any more detailed images of the container cars that your engine is pulling?
