3 is right for most "B" units. If you want specifics, get appropriate copies
of "Extra 2200 South" (IIRC, that is the correct title, the railfan's Diesel
spotter mag)

Ya, the real ones would have doors in the nose. My F has a simulated door in
the nose (non opening)- I suppose a link would be nice...

This allowed the crew to enter the loco from the train-not that it would have
been used all that often. (the only steam equvelent I can think of would have
been the corridor tenders on the LNER, these allowed a crew change on the go-it
was far more often that the crew would change with the loco when the train was
new, and later, at stops (crew on train is not counted as "off duty" hrs in the
same way as if in a hotel)
