  German DB236 Diesel Switcher Locomotive

A little diesel switcher, the DB236 (or maybe v36?). Looks a lot better with the old 12v motor and drive rods. A lot of selective compression and a little artistic liberty...here's the result: (URL) Mathis (22 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) That one lookls great James! I like your way to use the 2x2-plate with side technic hole in several different places of your engine. Colour scheme and the amount of details are georgeous "as usual" when I see a model of yours... Which one has (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: German DB236 Diesel Switcher Locomotive

(...) The real brick model came first. I worked from a photo of a Maerklin model in one of my Maerklin catalogs. I'm not sure I would have built it in CAD first, since I don't have a .dat file for the 12v motor nor the 12v motor gray drive rods. I (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

Very nice! You captured this engine very well. One question, where did you get the .dat for the train track? Robert Powell (22 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) That was in the "Spur I" (gauge I) part in the back? ;-) I often use the Maerklin catalogue for inspiration too... (...) I never saw a face to face combination in any train modeller magazine.... But I have to admit, that I have no idea about (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: German DB236 Diesel Switcher Locomotive

(...) No, I don't think so. This was from a "new items" small brochure featuring only new items from year 1982 for gauge I, HO, and Z. The model of the DB236 was an HO scale. (...) Lot's of good inspiration in there! (...) Sounds like the MOT green (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: German DB236 Diesel Switcher Locomotive

(...) Departure...well, perhaps out of some necessity as I've run out of most of the parts that make for passenger trains. Also, just what "popped out" as I flipped through the train catalog looking for inspiration and something to use up some of my (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: German DB236 Diesel Switcher Locomotive

(...) In the meantime you can get it in gauge I too (and as all the big gauge one model it rocks!) (...) Definitely it is, but I think any green waggon with 2x2 classic window in white or yellow would be too.... Keep on bricking! Ben (22 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)
