The real brick model came first.  I worked from a photo of a Maerklin model
in one of my Maerklin catalogs.

That was in the "Spur I" (gauge I) part in the back? ;-)

No, I don't think so.  This was from a "new items" small brochure featuring
only new items from year 1982 for gauge I, HO, and Z.  The model of the
DB236 was an HO scale.

I often use the Maerklin catalogue for inspiration too...

Lot's of good inspiration in there!

I'm not sure what style of passenger equipment this DB236 might have hauled.

If you drive with 60 km/h diesel power a commuter train, that has for sure
only been on very small routes. So I think you will have seen only small (and
oldfashioned) 4-wheel cars behind these engine. Waggons that had no brakes
for high speed main lines any more have been used for such smaller lines much
longer.
But this is more or less a "guess": - I'm far too young to have ever seen a
DM236 with a passenger train.

Sounds like the MOT green passenger train cars will be a good place for me
to start.

James Mathis

(...) In the meantime you can get it in gauge I too (and as all the big gauge one model it rocks!) (...) Definitely it is, but I think any green waggon with 2x2 classic window in white or yellow would be too.... Keep on bricking! Ben (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)
