(...) At 20-30 of those printed bricks, and the average price running between $50-$100 for the set, well, that's alot of money. Wow. But where's the rest of them? That's going to be a whole lot of rocket boosters! And why? (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Help with a classic train for Christmas tree

(...) See it as a source of parts... then design your own. Any christmas train worth its salt has to have Santa on a sleigh and some reindeer anyway. (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Help with a classic train for Christmas tree

Thanks for the input Mike, but 4561 looks to modern and space-age. I want to find the classic look. I want a choo-choo, not an electro-magnetic jet. (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

Help with a classic train for Christmas tree

I am a big LEGO fan, but I've never been interested in the trains (mainly because of the hefty price tag). Recently though, I've thought about putting a LEGO train around the base of my Christmas tree. I wanted something classic-looking, not very (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: NewTechnic wind-up and trains

Back in the 1980's, LEGO introduced a yellow wind up motor; look up set #895 in Pause to see a picture of it.
