  Re: LEGO and the NMRA

(...) A similar example is found with Hornby O gauge (pre/post WW2). This stuff is very toy-like, made of flat printed tinplate with it's own style, runs on very coarse track but it provides HUGE entertainment for adult collectors and spectators at (...)   Re: 9V train collection completed

(...) OK everbody, we can make some serious money here by refusing to sell these last vital items to Ben; 1. We all demand a price about 2,500% higher than the market price. 2. If he is keen to complete his collection, he will buy the items. 3. The (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Millennium Falcon with grey train roof pieces?

Also not to nitpick, but the part that's available in the 5978 is the 6x6 dual-low-slope roofcap, not the 6x6 multi-sloped roof cap--there's a difference! Both are much sought after by us trainheads, though (well, at least those of us who haven't (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Millennium Falcon with grey train roof pieces?

Er, not to nitpick, but said part (in grey) is also available in set 5978 Sphynx Secret Surprise. You can't see it in the Pause pic, but it's part of the Sphynx's back. -Cheese (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Millennium Falcon with grey train roof pieces?

(...) Oops, you're right (The purpose of my original msg was "that colour has never been available before!), obviously I am no train expert (although I do have 4563). If it WAS the grey roof's first appearance, I'm sure you guys would have spotted (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Millennium Falcon with grey train roof pieces?

(...) The point was not so much that the part has never been available in grey before, but that it is now available to mere mortals in grey, which is a good thing independant of whether it has already existed. (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

In lugnet.starwars, Bryan Wong writes: [snip] (...) Please allow me to pinch you: This part was incuded in set 4563, Load N' Haul Railroad. Picture: (URL) instructions: (URL) parts where included in set 4551, the Crocodile Engine. Picture: (URL) (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Millennium Falcon with grey train roof pieces?

(...) In the picture stated above, the top part of the MF is on the upper right of the picture. Look at the two open "hatches." I think those are grey train roof pieces, like the black ones in 4558 and 4559! Bryan (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.trains)

  Re: LEGO and the NMRA

(...) Don't do THAT, just sell it to me. Proto operation (switch lists, dispatchers, CTC panels, bad orders, etc.) can be a lot of fun. It's just not everyone's cup of tea, it's a lot like WORK. :-) As our hobby matures we will see continued (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

  Re: LEGO and the NMRA

If I ever have to run my LEGO trains at scale speeds according to pseudo time tables I will shoot my self and have my collection ground up and sprinkled over the nearest train yard! SteveB (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego layout from the seventies

Yes gray bricks were not available during the 60's, only gray plates. But that doesn't mean that LEGO didn't produce them for their models. They still do it today with bricks and pieces that are not produced for the general public. Just go to a (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  9V train collection completed

After buying the LegoLOCO® software to get the small and limited edition promoset 2585 on saturday, I'm now proud owner of all 9V train items. Two weeks ago my collection of the grey era got into state of completenes too. Since I bought the long (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

I have phoned a store looking for TRAIN sets 12V or 9 V, They did not have any rare stuff excpet this 6990 which seems to be a MONORAIL serie which I'm not collecting.   Re: Pictures of GFLTC at the Enviro Fair...

(...) Thnks for the construction details. Can you speak as to how you came to build it? Do you know some of the people in SkyTrain company or just thought it was neat, or what?   Re: Pictures of GFLTC at the Enviro Fair...

(...) The Sky Train model I built for this event uses a lot of different parts not designed to work together. Like 4.5 track in a narrow gage configuration (4 studs) and Mindstorms.   Re: Chessie Steamer

I did put 8 wide in the folder description but it kind of gets lost at the top of the screen. The width of 8 wide really helped the train look a lot better than what I could create in six wide, which leads to the whole 8 vs. 6 discussion but I (...) (24 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.trains)
