  Isolating rails

Has anyone tried making isolating rails? By this I mean a purposely modified section of track with a cut in one or both rails (can be done with a modelling grinder etc.). All the postings I have read refer to using 1 stud gaps between the rail ends (...) (24 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: How high are train cars.

(...) If you put a wagon plate on a 2 axle bogie which utilizes a bogie plate then you will be 4 bricks high as it stands on the track. The LEGO platforms which come with the train station are 2 bricks high. You could stack 2 ramp platforms and (...) (24 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

  How high are train cars.

I'm building a train station with passenger platforms and I'm wondering how high to make the platforms. Currently I only have two axle train cars, but I'm plaining to get some of the dual boggy cars in the future. I'd like the platform to be the (...) (24 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego layout from the seventies

Re: Three more 8w train pics

(...) Gianluca, Thanks for posting these photos of your creations. They're wonderful. I particularly like the stud-up and stud-down orientation of the arches used on the side of the EMD f7 locomotive. What a nice circular hole of good proportion. (...) (24 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego layout from the seventies

(...) I'm sorry,no informations are available. Yes,it was on an italian encyclopedia at the voice "toys". It seems to feature official Lego sets,so maybe it's an official Lego picture. Bye Gianluca (24 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego layout from the seventies

(...) Do you have more information as to the source of the picture? Do you mean it was pictured in an encyclopedia (like Brittanica)? (24 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego layout from the seventies

(...) That's so cool. Check out that mountain! How many pieces in that??? And the station's a winner too!!! Some of the older stuff is really good, as it predated this morbid facination of juniorisation that TLC has developed. With less specialised (...) (...) Hi,John first of all thanks for your "excellent work" (and,of course thanks to all who appreciated my trains!) My first lego train was a metroliner,in 1993.
