Re: Future of LEGO Trains ? was Re: Model Railroad Scenery

(...) Actually, it is both worse and better than that. Going 8 wide means going longer, too. That means that trains will be 78% larger, assuming that height remains the same. I would figure that it would be about twice as big as a 6 wide train. (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Frank, nice 7760 Mark II

I just went to the rest of your train site. I really liked your remake of the 7760. I especially like the way you improvised the color scheme based on the doors that you had. Very nice. Chris (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Webpage with 12 to 9V Signal conversion

Thanks Frank. One quick question. The converter from 12v connector to 9v connector is in the switch box? From your page "The 12V electrical wires have different connectors than the 9V connector plates. There is at least one conversion required to (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Future of LEGO Trains ? was Re: Model Railroad Scenery

There is a dark side to TLG going to 8 wide. Here goes.... Current 6 wide trains are $130-150. So, if 8 wide is 33 percent bigger (2/6) will the sets be 33% more exspensive. Maybe LEGO will use big single piece wall parts and specialty pieces to (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: EMD DD40 almost done - pics up!

Mike, Nice work, a bit big don't you think? Anyway, I was actually writing about the curve straight-track corners. I set up curved-straight track corners once. I was trying to enlarge the radius to cut down on high speed derailing, but what I found (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My EMD SD40-2

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Building is great fun, but I have been all smiles reading what you have been saying! Yeah, I have a problem with the railing too. It is just not right, but without the railing it looks unfinished. I was thinking that (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My EMD SD40-2

hmmm... my very long reply seems to have been lost in the ether if the internet. If this post shows up and the other doesn't I guess I'll resend it. Chris (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 2585, I have 19 sets available, and a question...

I drove out to Grapevine and cleared the shelf at Toy Co., and now have nineteen 2585's sitting here. Reading the replies to this thread I see that eight different people are requesting 50+ sets... What's the usual LUGNET practice in these cases? (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.trains)
