  New LEGO Poem: Tic Toc

I've been out of touch with the LEGO community for a while (1+ year now) but am happy to say that while my LEGO may be boxed up my spirit it not! As such I'm happy to present the newest LEGO Poem addition entitled TIC TOC (URL) The 1600x1200 version (...)   Re: SNVT Build-a-Train Contest

This is just a reminder that you have until August 7th to enter this contest. There have been some fantastic models entered so far but there is plenty of room for more. I hope as many folks with enter that can. Eric (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains, FTX)

(URL) Brick Auction Going once... Going twice... Sold! There will be a silent auction this year, as well as a live auction. If you would like to donate something (LEGO of course!) to be auction off, please let me know. Or if you'd like (for a small (...)   Re: IR train base alternative

(...) i'd be happy to take some detailed photos but i suspect that the person will need to see the circut in person. from what i can tell the control circut that takes the IR signal and makes the thing work is buryed under a black blob. i should (...)   Re: IR train base alternative

(...) It would be a useful exercise for someone with electronics skills to (if possible) figure out the IR stuff and draw up a circuit diagram for the IR baseplate piece. (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod)

  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) It's a nice modification, but I can't help thinking it'd be better and cheaper all round to just build an IR receiver circuit for this - there's very little of the original configuration left in your mod. One mod I would like to see (to save (...) (18 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod, FTX)

  Re: IR train base alternative

(...) <SNIP> (...) Well, its persuaded me to go and get one to modify sometime :) (...) Seeing a the instructions are already here (in your post). I'd look at selling preassembled units rather than explaining how to further than you already have. (18 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.parts.mod)

  IR train base alternative

Hey all, Well I’m at it again. This time I bring you something with more usability. As most of you reading this should know the Lego Company recently released 2 IR train sets. While the idea is great, the implementation left much to be desired. The (...)   Re: How to hide that IR Electrics box?

(...) im going to have to agree with that. i have a small bridge that is raised about 4 bricks, and if its not at full power it doesnt make it (18 years ago, 29-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: How to hide that IR Electrics box?

(...) I would suggest just not using the new IR baseplate. I have the new freight set and I am not pleased with the pulling power of the train. Just pulling the 4 cars that come in the set, the wheels slip. So I guess I dont see the need to want to (...) (18 years ago, 29-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

How to hide that IR Electrics box?

A design study to try to hide the IR electrics box on the new 6x30 IR train baseplate when you want it thinner than 6-wide... (URL) other ideas? later, James Mathis (18 years ago, 28-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

Looking for a commuter train LDraw model

Hello all! I'm looking for an ldraw model of a commuter train for a project I am working on. If anyone has one or knows where I can get one it would be apprciated? The project is my LEGO POEMS (see (URL)). I have two poems that I recently created (...) (18 years ago, 28-Jul-06, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: German DB Class 144 in 8-wide for IR System

(...) Hi James, This caught my eye earlier today. Great work as usual, especially under the constraint of incorporating the IR box. The magnifying glasses are a great idea (I've not seen it before). But... 1x1 slopes don't come in green ;) Tim (18 years ago, 28-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

German DB Class 144 in 8-wide for IR System

While I'm not 100 percent sure what the new 6 x 30 IR train baseplate looks like, I tried to fake it for an experiment to build a locomotive based on the German DB Class 144 as inspired by the new IR set loc as a starting point. I've seen better (...) (18 years ago, 28-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New train set?

Well if you look at the first part that goes over building the engine, you will notice that it shows sliding the 9v wheels onto the axel, then placeing them in the holder. So obviously it is a new set, how it ended up online before it's anocement (...) (18 years ago, 27-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.inst, FTX)

  Re: Wardale 5AT

(...) In that case, I have taken new pictures. Previously, I had a single 40w lightbulb sitting to the left of my camera. The new pictures have been taken in my kitchen with all of its lights on. Hopefully they will be satisfactory. (18 years ago, 26-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Wardale 5AT

(...) I hate to sound like the big bad meanie, but: Please turn on some lights when you take photographs. A nice desklamp with a halogen bulb does rather nicely. Personally, I replaced the generic flourescent tubes in my kitchen with expensive (...) (18 years ago, 25-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains)
