Re: combining LDCC and NQC style automation?

(...) [snip] (...) [snip] (...) Sorry, I should have thought of that when crossposting to .robotics.rcx (URL) picture has a good view of the headlight and the trolley poles. The trolley poles are the long things on the roof that pick up the power (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.trains)

Re: combining LDCC and NQC style automation?

Chris, Thanks for asking these questions. I think this has been discussed before, but it is always good to rehash this at least for the .trainheads! I think that remote train operation and LDCC etc is very exciting but perhaps only for the strong (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.trains)

Re: combining LDCC and NQC style automation?

(...) Chris, I'm not up on my trolly design. Can you explain or show pictures of the "lights" and "trolly poles" You can not use NQC and LDCC. It's like running two operating systems on your PC. Only one works at a time. Steve (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.trains)

combining LDCC and NQC style automation?

OK, so I made a trolley go back and forth using NQC and my RCX. My wife's response to this was, "I that why you wanted a Mindstorms set?" Her tone implied that while whe thought it was cool, she also thought that I had just reached a new level of (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.trains)

Re: Santa Fe El Capitan Hi-Level

(...) Of course you have to remember when printing "non-solid" colours (ie pretty much everything but black) on clear decal sheet that the brick colour will affect the result. Obvious I know, but I forgot once! Tim (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  New Year's Eve Fundraiser

On New Year's Eve I was asked if I'd like to help David Jolley with a display in Irthlingborough (UK) to raise money for charity. I was visiting my parents nearby at the time, so took along as many of my models as I could fit in the car. David had a (...)   Re: vinyl tape Re: Santa Fe El Capitan Hi-Level

(...) Maybe it's just me, but I am planning to do mine (if and when, not going to preannounce anything!) in black. I'm not seeing this color difference as huge enough to warrant using tape or paint. It is like those Thornton trucks... (URL) post> (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

vinyl tape Re: Santa Fe El Capitan Hi-Level

(...) True, I should also mention that most sign shops carry a wide selection of vinyl decal sheet. This stuff is thinner then electrical tape, and has less shinkage. I've also used liner tape. Commonally avalible in 1/8" and 1/4", which is extremly (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Santa Fe El Capitan Hi-Level

You could also print your own stickers or decals (on white or clear) with just the "right" gray. SteveB (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Santa Fe El Capitan Hi-Level

(...) That's a good idea. I'd go for removable tape than permanent paint. I'll look into this. Thanks. later, James Mathis (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: RCX seems outputs different power levels

(...) snip (...) Well first thing I'd do is try it without ganging the outputs - that's really only required if you're going to be drawing a large current, and it doesn't sound like your trolley does that. ROSCO (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

RCX seems outputs different power levels

Last night I decided to redesign my point to point trolley program. I decided to connect the three RCX outputs in parallel (as suggested by some of LDCC documentation). I also decided to use one of sensor inputs to set the power setting. When I (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: The Great Ball Contraption

I've been trying to build a hopper that can be unloaded mechanically, without much success (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.trains)

Re: Santa Fe El Capitan Hi-Level

(...) James, I'm in a similar need for split level plates in grey, as I'm woring on a SP 1960 era passenger train. I'm using grey vinyl tape (electrical tape) to cover the sides of a black version. I used yellow tape on a grey 6x28 plate for a ATSF (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Hello all you Train Heads I just got off the phone with Customer service; I was calling about the well-known defective train wheels. Well it seems that the people in customer service still know nothing about this issue. I have personally called in (...) (20 years ago, 11-Jan-05, to lugnet.trains)
