Hi, I went through a lot of postings concerning PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) in this newsgroup. My conclusion is that it is possible. However, I haven't seen any description of the longterm (after) effects of PWM on the motor itself. So I have a few (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.trains)

Thanks to everyone who replied. I think I have to go with the Cargo Train. I had not thought about the turnout and the light kit. The MHEx has more peices but that includes the station and mostly regular building parts. I have lots of regular LEGO. (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jul-04, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Good point! (...) I'd even drop that requirement unless you're giving it as a gift, or want the one stop shopping aspect... Curved track and speed regulators can be had very cheaply on BrickLink so you can get by with something that doesn't (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.trains)
