Re: Eliminate high-speed derailments forever! (and possibly void your warranty)

Actually, lowering the voltage would lower the current draw too with a constant load. Of course a motor is anything but a linear load, and it does tend to draw more current at slower rpm. In any case, you're not going to break it, since the 9v train (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Train doors and windows

Hello I have a friend at LEGO Denmark that i can order LEGO pieces from. I ordered piecenumber 4181,4182,8183,4033,...4511,4510. He said that they didnt have it in stock. Now i wonder if their are any one ho wants those pieces. If ther are a hugh (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Eliminate high-speed derailments forever! (and possibly void your warranty)

FWIW: I have two LEGO train transformers that are labeled for an output of 12 VAC and two that are labeled for an output of 11 VAC. Both rate the power output at 7 VA. One of my speed controllers is labeled for an input of 9-11 VAC, and three for an (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 13V ~ port on 12V transformer

This means, that now when we have 230V in Europe (European Union standard as it is between 220 and 240V and whitin the limits), that it will be app 5% more ~almost 14V. I have never checkid it, but the 741 (740, 742) is only a transformer basically (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

Eliminate high-speed derailments forever! (and possibly void your warranty)

Okay, how's this for an idea: Most electronic stores stock a kind of universal power converter. These have several output settings, including 9v and 7.5 volt. If you use the 7.5 volt setting, the train never gets enough power to derail on curves. (...) (25 years ago, 23-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

  13V ~ port on 12V transformer

My question is what is it for? My dad says it is the first change after the step-down from 240V (Europeans who use 220V transformers have a 12V ac port). The other 2 ports on the tranformer have a use - one for accessories, one for control of the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)

You could try LEGOLAND California, I don't know where it is exactly in California, but no normal LEGO retailer in the US has carried Train tracks, etc. since 1993-1994. I only get it at SAHS. Scott "Yes, I live in Michigan" Sanburn (...) (25 years ago, 21-Aug-99, to lugnet.trains)
