  Re: Old spareparts

(...) This is hit or miss. There are some accessories that will be in high demand (for example the largest red steam engine wheels) and some that won't (for example the spare contact brushes for 12V motors) be in as much demand. But ya, I expect (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: I<whatever>LTC summary

(...) I dunno. But I'm expecting to hear something from Steve Barile. I know the mailing lists exist. Perhaps just start using one and let the "which list is it, we didn't pick a name yet" problem get solved later. Can you rename a pairlist? I (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Train Show Flyer

In lugnet.general, Chris Leach writes: <snip> (...) That's great. I wasn't aware that TLC or LD had done that. My criticism was based on an assumption that they were just advertising the show for their own benefit and I can see that this is not (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains)

In lugnet.trains, Frank Filz writes: <Extolls the virtues of Boston as a source of proto inspiration> (...) Well Boston DOES have Acela, it leaves from South Station.   Re: Harry P. Movie Trailer / Hogwarts Express Train

(...) It is licensed from the movie. However, that is no guarantee we will see a true-to-form steam engine. For example, just look at the baby dinos for the Jurassic Park III license! Jeff (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: Harry P. Movie Trailer / Hogwarts Express Train

(...) I agree. I try to model British steam trains, and I'd love something like this - particularly without the cost of more track and another controller! One issue - perhaps someone knows the answer - is the Lego Harry Potter series licensed from (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: subway info?

(...) I haven't been in the NYC subways enough to know, but there sure is some interesting stuff in Boston's T stations. Some inspirations I would take from the T: - Track leading off into dark tunnel to nowhere - Old traction equipment which is (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Harry P. Movie Trailer / Hogwarts Express Train

(...) Let me clarify. What I meant was, I hope they do a train, and I hope that it runs on 9v track. Not that it has to have track in the set with it, etc. Not every set that Lego has produced has had power pack, etc., in it. Just that it does run (...)   Re: subway info?

(...) Come on, I own the first public transfer issued by McCowan station, at something like 5:58 on the first day of the RT opening. I'm just not happy with the fact that it goes nowhere-I mean, yes, it's nice to be able to go to a shopping mall in (...) (24 years ago, 2-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Harry P. Movie Trailer / Hogwarts Express Train

(...) I think that if lego is smart they wont do a 9v train set. If they really want to get the most sales out of it they will do it as a set that uses the train wheel pieces and such but doesnt come with track, motor etc (to keep costs down) and (...)
