MichLUG was pleased to display at the Curious Kids' Museum for a second year running during their annual LEGO creation contest. This year we assembled displays for four seperate themes. The Space and Aquazone were a little on the small side and we (...)   Re: 7046 in Canada

I am just going from my price list/catalog release dates. Sometimes the 'big guys' can get things around the same time as shop@home, but the smaller dealers for sure won't see it till July, same as the Falcon, and quite a few other sets as well. HP (...)   Re: 7046 in Canada

(...) Why would TLC put it out in the Magazine and Catalogue with the other "Rescue" Sets (back in Nov.) if it gunning for a July '04 Release? I heard from a freind he saw the set two weeks ago at one particular TRU, but when I went there last week (...) (21 years ago, 22-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.town)

Re: Flush mounted access hatch that opens up

(...) I had read your solution but I have to admit it didn't make sense to me at the time as I don't generally use the technic part you listed. Seeing the pics makes perfect sense. Very slick solution. It also has the advantage of being 6 wide. I (...) (21 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Flush mounted access hatch that opens up

(...) You're right. I had seen the catalog entry on Bricklink but never actually checked it out. None for sale..No ever sold.... Lotsa people have 'em on their wish list though. :) Mike (21 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

Re: Flush mounted access hatch that opens up

(...) I thought I'd figured this one out at the time: (URL) Though admittedly, yours is a plate lower than mine. Do current postboxes have hollow studs or not? Mind you, current technic 1x5 plates don't have holes in the end... Jason Railton (21 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Flush mounted access hatch that opens up

(...) I believe that the 1 x 4 tile was never made without a groove. (Grooves were introduced almost a decade before the 1x4 tile first appeared.) (21 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

Re: Flush mounted access hatch that opens up

(...) I'm out of my league here - SNOT is very not me and neither are trains :), but I figured this was too good to pass up. I don't know if Mike can do it, but I just did it in 2 2/3 bricks and 4 studs wide, opening sideways :) Here's the pics to (...)   Re: 7046 in Canada

Dealers are not getting the 7046 till July, so it's a semi shop@home exclusive for a few months of preview. A very common thing these days. Same with Falcon, new falcon probably won't hit shelves till July retail wise, but shop@home has it already (21 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.town)

Re: Flush mounted access hatch that opens up

(...) Indeed you did. But (and you're probably going to hate me for hurting your brain like this), can you make it open...sideways? (21 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

Flush mounted access hatch that opens up

Aha! I had an epiphany. When I posted this hack: (URL) question was raised if it could be done so the door opens up. The height is identical to the original. 3 bricks high. The first picture is a little fuzzy but the second has the guts of it any (...) (21 years ago, 21-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

XIX Century Portuguese Northern House (was: Casa Minhota no final do século XIX)

Re: Working Fountain on TCLTC layout (Pics)

(...) I'm glad it uses only the pump cylinders, which means that if the water causes the seals to fail over time it doesn't impact any other components. I tried to make a fire engine once, using the old pneumatic system with a non-return valve and (...) (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: Al Macs Diner, Fall River Mass.

(...) I moved to NYC in 1990 (after a brief time in LA) to join a hair metal band. Had a lot of fun, but tired of the gypsy living....I still play (keys) and write from time to time, but much less often these days. (...) That would be cool. Before I (...)   Re: Working Fountain on TCLTC layout (Pics)

(...) It actually pumps the water. A large part of the design problem was getting the system to pump an amount of water that wasn't too much and wasn't too little. I'd have to say that the final result was a triumph of trial and error:-) JOHN (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) Thanks John. The Snot Blues...hmm. I am a musician too! Here is a link with a picture of the actual diner. (URL) Thanks again, Jonathan (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Al Macs Diner, Fall River Mass.

(...) What a great story and what a great diner, Jonathan! The dual, SNOT blues really give a nice, retro look. What would be nice would be an actual pic of the diner to compare to yours. Great work! JOHN (21 years ago, 19-Apr-04, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Al Macs Diner, Fall River Mass.

Hello, Please bear with me.....I think this is a neat story.... A while ago I decided to build a 1950's style diner. I work for an art book publisher and looked at a book of diners and picked one to replicate. The diner I chose was Al Macs. I had a (...)
