Re: Brownstone (but, it is tan)

(...) Looks awesome! One question : was there a specific reason for the 1/2stud offset around the windows? I mean it looks great, specially with the tiles left&right of the door, but was there an actual reason for this obvious builders torture? WRT (...) (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

Re: Brownstone (but, it is tan)

(...) Thanks! (...) And, only taken in a good way. :o) I thought the red might be a little to much, to bright, but I like the way it adds pop! to the facade. thanks again, Jonathan (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

Re: Brownstone (but, it is tan)

(...) Another great building from you Jonathan. The wheel hubs (?) are perfect for the windows and a wonderfully clever use of parts. My favourite bit though is the door. It screams Sesame Street to me in a very good way ;) Tim (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

  Brownstone (but, it is tan)

When we first saw the recent firetruck set with the fenders (?) I knew I wanted to use those parts for lintels on a building. I thought they were nearly perfect. I wish they were attached to a plate rather than a brick, but I made it work anyway, (...) (19 years ago, 13-Mar-06, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town) !!

  Re: State Courthouse, Columbus OH

(...) WOW!!!! Very impressive!!!!! You did a great job on the LeVeque Tower, even including the Palace Theatre. Ironically even though movie palace architect C. Howard Crane designed the LeVeque Tower, he didn't get to design that buildings Palace (...) (19 years ago, 9-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

(...) Gary, I think the Columbus club is already way ahead of you :-) (URL) fact they are recreating the entire Columbus skyline in Lego: (URL) (19 years ago, 9-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

Re: NYC grit of the past

(...) Those are some highly interesting pictures Jonathan. Some great inspiration and a lot of it is architecturally generic enough to be used in layouts based on other cities. I sure hope the station is 'dressed up' since I'm not sure I want to (...) (19 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

  NYC grit of the past

I was rummaging around the sky scraper forum and found this thread (URL) These are the types of images that inspire parts of my layout. Burnt out NYC of the 70's and 80's (and beyond, in some cases). These images, as tough as they might be to view, (...) (19 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

  Re: State Courthouse, Columbus OH

(...) Very nice Paul!!! It's nice to see I'm not the only one who builds in the classic Lego scale (doors=3 bricks tall, windows=2 or 3 bricks tall). Now what you need to do is to build Columbus's Leveque-Lincoln Tower, a 1926 55 story Art Deco (...) (19 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

The Gateway LEGO Users Group (GtwLUG) will present at the Great Train Expo, two tracks of steam and diesel train models running on a 12' x 16' layout with various scenes made of LEGO bricks.   Re: Construction MOCs

(...) Sounds awesome! I've long thought that the 7344 could be easily modified into a more realistic mining truck by adding (URL) to the front and some other details. As for the shovel, would it be a (URL) shovel> or a (URL) giant wheel loader>? If (...) (19 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Construction MOCs

(...) Thanks, Matt! Sorry we never got the chance to meet in Washington. We've moved, but let me know if you ever make it down to Oregon. -Steven :-) (19 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: The Crystal Coupe

(...) Hey! Very nice! Especially considering the lack of variation of available parts in trans colors... I think I like the glass works building the best! Just watch out for evil minifigs with rocks..... Car is super cool too! Too bad the trans (...) (19 years ago, 6-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Construction MOCs

(...) Excellent stuff. I like them all but really like the dozer the best. I think dozer's are difficult to do and you did it wonderfully. Thanks, Jonathan (19 years ago, 6-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: The Crystal Coupe

(...) It's always neat to see what's new in your folders Nelson, lots of great ideas and usage of blocks. I made a couple of cavemen after seeing your vig's and they are happily running amock thru the town. Your glassworks are very nice, I'm sure (...) (19 years ago, 6-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  The Crystal Coupe

I came up with some experimental MOCs the other week, which I recently uploaded: (URL) And, while working with these trans-pieces, I wondered if whether or not a car could be built. Using some of my more rare parts, I managed to put together a cool (...) (19 years ago, 6-Mar-06, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, FTX) !

  Re: Construction MOCs

(...) Steven, that is 3 very nice machines. While the ever-present trade-off between form and functionality in town scale construction MOCs is very hard to balance, you've done it masterfully with these. Very nice! ROSCO (19 years ago, 4-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Construction MOCs

(...) Beautiful work. Very well executed. Thanks for showing it! -Matt :) (19 years ago, 4-Mar-06, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Construction MOCs

Nice equipment you got there. I have a MOC idea to build a large mining shovel to go with the 7344 dump truck and using the large black bucket from the 8455 backhoe loader as a bucket but I just gotta get the right wheels for it :) (19 years ago, 4-Mar-06, to lugnet.town)

I've just posted new photos of an (URL) dump truck> to go with my (URL) loader> and (URL). The front-end loader was a joint effort by myself and Pierre Normandin. See more photos (URL) here>. -Steven (URL) (19 years ago, 3-Mar-06, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, FTX) !
