Re: MAN Midibus in city scale with opening doors

That is definatly my favorite MOC of the year. I love it when a design with clever working details also looks just right, especially when it is all done in a compact space. That door design is brilliant in its simplicity (not that I think it was (...) (19 years ago, 14-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Armitage Hotel

I'd go with a roof sign for now. Maybe you could even put some real lighted bricks on it! BTW.. love the hotel. Hope to see it in person soon. John (19 years ago, 14-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: MAN Midibus in city scale with opening doors

(...) Luca, the bus looks great, I think I'll try making one. I'm reposting to .trains as well. It's not a train, but it would go nicely withe a town layout, and the mirrior and door technique could be usefel for some types of train. (...) Well, you see, I had (URL) book>... (...) Thanks! I'm not even sure why, but so far, I've avoided marquees. I guess I should try building one and see if I like it. The rooftop sign idea, I like a lot, as I've been meaning to make some (...) (19 years ago, 14-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Armitage Hotel

(...) Very nice! Good sources of inspiration :) A sign with the hotel's name couldn't hurt. I built a sign into a side wall of my Hotel Columbia that seems to get the point across (althought that one isn't red). A large rooftop sign would be neato, (...) (...) Hmm.. that's a good point. If this building makes it to another event, I'm going to query folks who make the "firehouse" comment and see if I can see what they see. (...) Thanks! (...) I know Chris Leach frequently has a firehouse on the (...) (19 years ago, 14-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: MAN Midibus in city scale with opening doors

(...) Yes, very clever SNOT work on the doors! It avoids a lot of tiles and works just great... I think I may need to copy some aspects of that on my next bus... -Matt :) (19 years ago, 14-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) I knew I recognized your name... .Castle has been quiet too long... I remember some of your MOCs with fondness, especially the bookstore! On a completely random note. As I was taking apart Cliffton I noticed how heavy the different pieces (...) (19 years ago, 14-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Armitage Hotel

(...) I am wondering if people are noticing the huge red windows (made of classic 1x2x2 windows) and mistaking them for bay doors? Depending on their line of sight, maybe the street level shops are out of view? We have some big firehouses here in (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Armitage Hotel

(...) I've done more in castle than in town, actually. (URL) And even with castle there is room for strange interpretations.   Re: MAN Midibus in city scale with opening doors

(...) I'm glad you find it very nice! Have you seen the brickshelf folder? There are 2 close-up of the door system. I hope it is clear to understand how it works, or not? Bye, Luca (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

This is really nice. It has an attractive colour scheme and a certain 'elegance' to it. It is this type of MOC that make me think I'll have to build town one day... Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan (19 years ago, 12-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Armitage Hotel

(URL) I'm happy to present the Armitage Hotel. I had this completed back in Feburary, but alas, I'm really slow to get pictures taken. In fact, I still haven't had a deticated photo shoot. But I grabbed pictures from the various layouts it's been in (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jun-05, to lugnet.town, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.org.us.michlug, FTX) !!
