'All yellow': 1989 First appearance and introduction of the 8862 in the Dutch
Lego-Catalog (pic 38&39):

Fall 1990: Cap color changed to black. First seen in the German/French/Italien
catalogue. Also the 8854 has the newer black-cap cylinders in that edition.
Service-pack with black cap came available.
Detail in 1991 (dutch) catalogue: the capcolors of 8044 and 8854 are still
yellow, the 8862 is printed with the new caps. Looks like foto-retouch-job to
me. Pic 45 on catalogue page:

Last known changes: the connector-pegs and bushings improved to the newer
(second) version (see Hughes Technica) and the air-hose material became more
flexible, an other teint of black too.

Well, that's it as far as I know/have been building/have sold....   :-)

Klaas (who build 19 times an 8862 so far ....)

Have there been two versions of <set:8862>?
I noticed that someone wrote in the comments to this set [1] that it has "all
yellow cylinders" and on Gaurav Thakur's review site it actually appears with
yellow cylinders but in all the other pictures I could find (lugnet, brickset,
brickshelf) it has the usual cylinders (yellow & black).

Does anyone have any more information about this?
Does any other set have these "all yellow" cylinders?

Thanks,
- David
